Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to read about Soma and use it. Here's what we do on this site, where we fall short and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

What we do on this site
- We build every page to work with a keyboard. The first thing the Tab key reaches is a link that skips past the menu to the page itself.
- Every page tells your browser its language, so a screen reader reads English and French in the right voice.
- Photos and renders that carry meaning come with a written description. Lines and shapes that only decorate are hidden from screen readers.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, the animations stop and the moving drawings hold still on one frame.
- There's a light and a dark theme, with a switch at the bottom of every page.
- Questions and answers open and close as plain page elements, so they work without scripts and your browser's find-in-page can reach them.
The standard we aim for
- We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We check our pages with automated tools as we build them, but no outside expert has audited the site yet, so we don't claim that it fully meets them.
Where we fall short
- Some drawings on the site are made to be seen, like the pod's blueprint and the home page's opening animation. What they show is also written in the text around them.
The pod and the app
- Soma Axon and the Soma app are still being built. The first version of the pod asks you to stand still for a few minutes, so it won't work for everyone yet. Making it work for people who can't stand is on our roadmap.
