What each one reads

Ultrahuman says Ring PRO reads your HRV and skin temperature around the clock, your heart rate through the day and your sleep, activity and blood oxygen, which its app turns into scores for sleep, recovery and movement. It lasts up to 15 days on a charge, and there's no subscription to see your data. Paid add-ons, which Ultrahuman calls PowerPlugs, cover things like cycle tracking and respiratory health.

Soma Axon will read what a ring can't reach: photos of your skin all the way around, body composition, balance and grip strength, along with your heart and breathing, ECG, EEG and thermal imaging. It'll take a few minutes, once a week, and it'll read you the same way every time.

Ultrahuman in the US

In 2025 Oura won a patent case against Ultrahuman at the US International Trade Commission, and since October 21, 2025, the older Ring AIR can't be imported into the US. In March 2026, US Customs ruled that the redesigned Ring PRO falls outside that order, and Ultrahuman says its US rings are made in Plano, Texas. Its US store lists Ring PRO as a pre-order, shipping from October 10, 2026. Ultrahuman has appealed the trade commission's decision.

How they work together

Ultrahuman says it writes HRV and temperature from the ring to Apple Health. The Soma app runs on iPhone and reads Apple Health between visits, and it never writes anything back.

Which one fits

If you want a ring with no subscription and a long battery, that's how Ultrahuman builds Ring PRO. If you want your skin, your body composition and your strength read the same way every week, that's what we're building Axon for. The two can sit side by side.

Questions people ask

Can I buy an Ultrahuman ring in the US?

Ring PRO, yes: Ultrahuman's US store takes orders, shipping from October 10, 2026. The older Ring AIR can't be imported since Oura won a patent case at the US International Trade Commission, a decision Ultrahuman has appealed. Soma Axon isn't available anywhere yet: the first prototype is being built.

Is Ultrahuman's ring a medical device?

No. Ultrahuman says its ring and app aren't medical devices, and it has no FDA clearance of its own. Soma is a general wellness product and isn't a medical device either.

How do the costs compare?

Ring PRO is $479 with its charging case, and there's no subscription to see your data, though some add-ons cost extra. Soma hasn't announced a price. It'll be priced like a weekly habit, and prices come out before the first pod opens.

Does Ultrahuman offer blood tests?

Yes. Ultrahuman's Blood Vision tests more than 60 biomarkers for $99 every six months, with a draw at home or at a partner lab. Soma's blood test will be an optional finger prick at pods with an attendant, sent to a partner lab, with results a few days later.
