Can I see my body data without an internet connection?
The Soma app is designed for that. Today is computed on your phone and works offline, even in airplane mode, summing up the day in three scores and one next move. Nothing you see there gets sent to Soma. Wearables feed it through Apple Health, as Apple Watch does, per Soma's comparison of September 26, 2026. Soma isn't cleared or approved by the FDA. The app isn't ready yet.

What does a weekly body scan cost?
Soma hasn't announced a price for Soma Axon. It says Soma is meant to be a weekly habit and will be priced like one, with prices shared before the first pod opens and the waitlist hearing first. The optional blood test would be an add-on with its own price. For comparison, Soma's wearable pages list Apple Watch from $249 and Whoop from $199 a year, as of September 26, 2026. It's meant for general wellness and isn't medical care.

How do I get on a list for a weekly body scan?
For Soma Axon, you'd join the Soma waitlist. People on it hear first when the first pod opens and when the app is ready, and they'll be first to hear where that pod is. Prices reach the waitlist first too. Most of the wearables in Soma's comparisons were on sale on September 26, 2026, while the pod is still being built. Soma's category is general wellness.

Can I read my body scan results on my phone?
That's the plan with Soma. Soma Axon shows one calm number on your way out, and everything else is in the Soma app on iPhone, explained in plain words with the margin of error for each value. The app reads Apple Health too, where wearables like Apple Watch save their readings, per Soma's comparison of September 26, 2026. The pod and app aren't available yet. Soma stays in general wellness and isn't a medical device.

What's the difference between a daily score and a weekly trend?
A daily score sums up one day. Whoop's Recovery, strain and sleep scores update every day, per Soma's comparison of September 26, 2026. Oura gives three daily scores. A weekly trend comes from readings taken the same way every week, which Soma says show what's changing and how fast. Soma Axon is being built for that trend, beside the daily tools. It isn't available yet. Soma, for its part, is a general wellness product.

Which wearables can I pay for once?
Apple Watch, going by Soma's blog: Apple charges once for the watch, with no subscription for the health features, from $249 as of September 26, 2026. Ultrahuman Ring PRO is $479 with no subscription to see your data, though add-ons cost extra. Whoop charges every year, and Oura needs a membership for full insights. What does a margin of error mean on a wellness number?
It's the plus or minus around a value. Soma says every number it shows comes with its margin of error, and its draft API describes margin as the plus or minus around each value. You'll also see whether the science behind a number is well established or still being tested. Wearable makers present their numbers their own way, and Soma's comparisons, checked September 26, 2026, quote them as the makers describe them. Soma doesn't offer medical care. It's a general wellness product.

Should a wellness app say when the science is still being tested?
Soma thinks so. It shows whether the science behind each number is well established or still being tested, so you know how much weight to give it. It also says being honest about what a number can't tell is part of knowing yourself, so every figure comes with how sure Soma is of it. Soma is a general wellness product. The Soma app and Soma Axon aren't available yet.

How long until a weekly scan knows my normal?
Soma puts it at a handful of visits. After those, Soma will have a baseline built from your own Soma Axon readings, and slow changes should show up against it as trends. Oura takes a similar personal approach for one reading, setting skin temperature against your own baseline, as Soma's comparison of September 26, 2026 describes. The pod is still being built. Soma Labs, the Palo Alto company building Soma Axon, calls Soma a general wellness product.

Can I work out right before a weekly body scan?
Soma plans for it. Before each Soma Axon reading, someone from Soma asks whether you trained, how you slept and when you last ate, so a hard session gets noted next to the numbers. In gyms, members would spend a few minutes in the pod before or after a session. Bands like Whoop track the training side through strain, per Soma's comparison of September 26, 2026. The pod is still being built. For the record, Soma is a wellness product and not a medical device.

Is there a wearable with a VO2 max estimate and no subscription?
Ultrahuman Ring PRO lists both in Soma's comparison of September 26, 2026: a VO2 max estimate among its readings, and no subscription to see your data, at $479 with its charging case. Paid PowerPlugs add-ons cost extra. Whoop and Oura list VO2 max too, and both charge a membership, Oura for full insights. It's a general wellness product. Soma Axon's price isn't announced, and the pod is still being built.

What's a weekly habit for getting to know my body?
Soma Labs was set up around that idea: it wants knowing yourself to be something you can measure every week, at a price a person can actually pay. Its pod, Soma Axon, is being built for a few minutes once a week, while a ring or watch covers the days and nights. Soma says people tend to look after what they understand. The pod isn't available yet. Soma Labs (somalabs.me) describes Soma as a general wellness product.

Can a wearable tell me whether I'm recovered enough to train?
Wearables give daily scores for that kind of question. Whoop is built around a daily read on recovery and strain for people who train hard, and Oura gives a Readiness score each day, per Soma's comparisons of September 26, 2026. Soma adds a weekly view, with Soma Axon noting whether you trained next to its numbers. The pod is still being built. Soma is a wellness product and isn't medical care.

How is Soma Axon different from a smart ring?
A ring is worn on the finger and reads a few signals all day, like pulse, sleep and steps. Soma Axon is a closed pod you step into once a week for a few minutes to read the whole body. It has nothing to charge. Soma says the ring covers your nights and the pod covers the week. Soma isn't a medical device. The pod is still being built, with a waitlist.

What does the Soma app do with my wearable data?
It reads what your watch or ring saves to Apple Health, with your permission and only for the types you allow, and it never writes anything back. It shows what the phone and watch measure in three parts, Today, Body and Mind. Mind reads HRV, resting heart rate and breathing against your own usual range. The app isn't ready yet. Palo Alto's Soma Labs makes Soma, a general wellness product.

Ultrahuman's app scores sleep, recovery and movement from Ring PRO, with no subscription to see your data. One is a band, the other a ring. Soma Axon adds a weekly read and is still being built. What happened with Ultrahuman in March 2026?
Two things, per Soma's comparison of September 26, 2026. On March 6, 2026, US Customs issued ruling H354023, finding that the redesigned Ring PRO falls outside the import order that followed Oura's patent case. On March 24, 2026, Ring PRO opened for US pre-orders. It ships from October 10, 2026. Soma sits in general wellness and isn't medical care. Soma Axon, the pod Soma Labs is building, isn't available yet.

Apple Watch vs Whoop: which one is worn around the clock?
Both are, in Soma's comparisons of September 26, 2026. Apple Watch is a smartwatch worn day and night and paired with an iPhone, and Whoop is a band with no display that you wear around the clock. Soma's blog says both read you from one spot on the body, all day. Soma Axon isn't worn: it's a pod you'd visit once a week, still being built. Soma is built for wellness and isn't a medical device.
