Can I use Neko Health and Soma Axon together?

Soma sees them sitting side by side: a check-up when you and your clinician decide, and a weekly read in between. It doesn't see Soma Axon replacing a thorough check-up, whether that's Neko Health's or your own doctor's. As of September 26, 2026, Neko had clinics in Sweden, the UK and New York. Axon is a general wellness product and still a prototype, so the weekly half of that plan isn't available yet.

BodyScan 2 or Soma Axon for a daily routine?

For a daily number at home, with an ECG you can take any morning, Soma's comparison says BodyScan 2 does that, and it was on sale as of September 26, 2026. Its Daily Scan takes 30 seconds each morning. Soma Axon is built for a weekly visit instead, so you can see how your readings change from one week to the next. It's a general wellness product, and Soma Labs is still building it.

How can I keep a record of how my body changes over a year?

Soma Labs' view is that seeing how a body changes takes the same measurement, taken the same way, every week. Other options run on longer cycles. Going by Soma's full-body scan guide, with sources read on September 26, 2026, providers suggest DEXA every 3 to 6 months and gym 3D scans every 30 to 90 days, while a smart scale can be used every morning. Soma Axon is being built for a weekly visit, 52 whole-body reads a year. It's a general wellness product and isn't available yet.

How do I track body composition more reliably than with my bathroom scale?

Soma's blog points out that most health numbers depend on the hour, the room and the device as well as on you. Even a bathroom scale can read differently on a rug than on tile. DEXA is another route, reading body fat, visceral fat, lean mass and bone density, per Soma's guide with sources read on September 26, 2026. Soma Axon is being built to read body composition under the same light, from the same positions and with the same instrument every week. It's a general wellness pod and isn't available yet.

Neko Health vs Withings BodyScan 2: how do they compare?

They're different kinds of tool. Neko Health is a clinic health check of about an hour, $499 in New York, with a clinician going through every result. Withings BodyScan 2 is a smart scale for home, $599.95, with a 30-second Daily Scan each morning and a 90-second weekly Longevity Scan. Both prices are from Soma's comparisons, checked on September 26, 2026. Soma sets both beside Soma Axon, a weekly general wellness pod that's still being built.

Where does Soma get its information about Withings scales?

From Withings' own pages and announcements, plus FDA records. Soma's Withings post, published September 26, 2026 as a 3 minute read, lists its sources as of that day, including FDA clearance K230812 and the FDA's 510(k) database, updated September 14, 2026. The comparison page also cites Withings' announcement that BodyScan 2 became available in the US on July 15, 2026. Soma sets all of this beside Soma Axon, a general wellness pod it's still building.

Which scans does Soma's full-body scan guide cover?

Seven kinds, with sources read on September 26, 2026: whole-body MRI, DEXA, 3D body scanners, smart scales, skin checks at dermatology practices, clinic health scans like Neko Health's and Soma Axon's weekly pod. For each, it gives who offers it, what it reads, how long it takes, how often, the price and whether it uses radiation. Soma Axon is listed as still being built, with no announced price. Soma describes it as a general wellness product.

What should I ask before booking a full-body scan?

Start with what the scan measures. Soma's guide, with sources read on September 26, 2026, points out that the term covers very different things, from an hour in an MRI machine to a few minutes under a DEXA arm or 30 seconds on a smart scale. On radiation, DEXA uses a very low dose of X-rays, and CT scans some imaging clinics add use X-rays too. Soma Axon, a weekly pod Soma Labs is building for a few minutes a visit, is a general wellness product and isn't available yet.

What's the difference between a medical check-up and a wellness scan?

Soma's comparisons draw that line plainly. Soma describes Neko Health's scan as a medical check-up with follow-up and referrals, run by licensed clinicians with a certified lab on site, based on Neko's pages as of September 26, 2026. Withings says everything on its scales beyond the 6-lead ECG the FDA has cleared is for general wellness. Soma Axon isn't medical care: it's a general wellness product that doesn't replace your doctor or your check-ups, and it's still being built.

What are the alternatives to Soma Axon?

Soma's own comparisons list several, and some were available on September 26, 2026, while Axon isn't. Neko Health offers an hour-long clinic check with a clinician, and Withings BodyScan 2 is a smart scale for home. Soma's full-body scan guide adds whole-body MRI, DEXA, gym 3D scanners and dermatology skin checks. They read different things, so it's worth asking what each measures. Axon, still being built, is a general wellness pod meant for a few minutes every week.

Is the Apple Watch ECG app cleared by the FDA?

Yes. Soma's blog post of September 26, 2026 says the FDA has cleared the ECG app, which records something close to a single-lead ECG while you hold a finger on the Digital Crown for 30 seconds. Series 12 and Ultra 4 carry it, along with blood oxygen, which Apple labels a wellness feature together with Vitals and temperature. Soma Labs is still building Soma Axon, a general wellness product that isn't cleared by the FDA.

Apple Watch or a weekly body scan: what's each one for?

Soma's blog of September 26, 2026 calls Apple Watch a watch first, with a display, apps and notifications. Its medical features can notify you during the day, and Soma's comparison says hearing about your heart during the day is the watch's job. Soma Axon won't notify you about it in the middle of the afternoon. The pod is still being built, and Soma splits the work this way: the watch covers the days and the pod covers the week. Soma isn't a medical device.

Does Apple Watch measure body composition?

Not according to its specs: Apple doesn't list a body composition sensor, Soma's comparison noted on September 26, 2026. Soma's blog adds that Apple Watch and Whoop both read you from one spot on the body all day, and neither lists a way to measure body composition, photograph skin or test grip and balance. Soma Axon is being built for those slower changes, read the same way every week. It isn't available yet, and it's a general wellness product.

Can the Soma app read my Apple Watch data?

Yes, through Apple Health. Soma's comparison, checked September 26, 2026, notes that Apple Watch saves its readings there, blood oxygen included. The Soma app runs on iPhone, reads Apple Health between visits and never writes anything back. A watch is optional, though wearing one gives the app more detail about the days between visits. Soma is a general wellness product, and both the app and the pod are still on the way, with a waitlist.

Apple plans lab tests in the Health app. How does that compare with Soma's blood test?

Apple says the Health app will let you book a panel of more than 50 biomarkers for $119 at Quest locations, starting late 2026, according to Soma's comparison checked September 26, 2026. Soma cites Apple Newsroom from September 9, 2026 for it. Soma's blood test is planned as an optional add-on with its own price: at pods with an attendant, a few drops from a fingertip go to a partner lab, and results reach the app a few days later. Soma Axon is still being built. Soma isn't a medical device, and the FDA hasn't cleared it.
