Blood oxygen and breathing rate

Two overnight readings from your watch or ring, and what a change from your usual can mean.

Blood oxygen

Blood oxygen (SpO2) is how much of your blood's haemoglobin carries oxygen, as a percentage. Watches and rings read it with light through the skin, mostly at night. It's for wellness, and wrist readings are less precise than a finger clip.

Breathing rate

Breathing rate is how many breaths you take a minute, usually measured while you sleep. It's quite stable for most people, so a rise against your usual is one of the things that can come with illness or a hard training block.

Where they show

Both are in Longevity > Body, under Biomarkers, and in the Vault under Respiratory and Vitals.

If you feel short of breath, or a finger clip reads low, talk to a doctor. Soma's readings can't tell you whether something's wrong.
