Heart rate recovery
How fast your heart rate falls in the minute after hard exercise.
Heart rate recovery is how many beats your heart rate drops in the first minute after you stop a hard effort. A faster drop usually goes with better fitness.
Where Soma gets it
Apple Watch records it after workouts where your heart rate got high enough, and writes it to Apple Health as Cardio Recovery. It shows in Longevity > Body, under Fitness.
Getting a reading
End your workout on the watch right after a hard effort, then stay still for a minute or so. A cool-down walk before ending the workout gives a smaller drop.
As with every measure, compare it with your own earlier readings.
If the line stays empty after hard workouts, see HRV or heart recovery is empty.
