Why your scores take a week

Scores compare you with your own recent days, so Soma needs about seven nights first.

Most of Soma's scores compare today with your own usual. To know your usual, Soma needs some history.

What needs a week

  • Sleep and Recovery appear once Soma has seven nights of sleep. Stress needs seven days of heart readings, and Mind follows them.
  • Strain (Activity on Today) and Energy show from the first day.
  • Until then a score shows a dash. That means there isn't enough to go on yet. It doesn't mean zero.

What fills in straight away

If Apple Health already holds months of readings from your watch or ring, Soma reads that history on day one, and your scores can appear the first time you open the app. Steps, heart rate, weight and most single readings show as soon as Health has them.

Speeding it up

  • Wear your watch or ring to bed every night of the first week.
  • Make sure Soma can read Sleep and Heart in Apple Health. Give Soma access to Apple Health shows where.
  • If you use a ring, a band or a sleep pad, turn on its sync to Apple Health. Connect your devices covers each brand.

If a score or a card still names something it's waiting on, A value shows a dash points to the article for that empty line.
