Connect Fitbit

Fitbit now syncs with Apple Health through the Google Health app.

Fitbit didn't share with Apple Health for years. It does now, through the Google Health app (the Fitbit app's new name), from version 5.05. You need iOS 16.4 or later.

Turn it on

  1. Update the Google Health app.
  2. Tap Connections at the top left, then Apps and services.
  3. Under Add connections, tap Apple Health, then Get started.
  4. Tap Agree, then Turn All Categories On (or pick some), then Allow and Done.

What it writes

Steps, distance, floors, active calories, exercise, heart rate, resting heart rate, VO2 max, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, sleep, weight, body fat, water, nutrition, mindfulness and more.

HRV and skin temperature aren't shared.

Good to know

  • After reinstalling, connect it again.
  • Fitbit's direct connection to Soma shows as Soon in Health access. Apple Health works today.

Check it worked

Open the Health app, tap your picture, then Apps. Google Health should be listed. Tap it to see what it may write. Then, in Soma, give it a minute and pull down on Today.
