Connect Oura

Turn on Apple Health in the Oura app so your ring's sleep, heart rate and activity reach Soma.

Today, your Oura ring reaches Soma through Apple Health. A direct connection is on its way, and shows as Soon in Soma's Health access page.

Turn it on

  1. Open the Oura app.
  2. Tap the menu (three lines), then Settings.
  3. Under Data sharing, tap Apple Health.
  4. Turn on Connect to Health, and Save Mindful Minutes to Health if you like.
  5. Allow the categories you want to share and tap Allow.

Oura needs a Gen2 ring or newer with an active membership to share with Health.

What Oura writes

Sleep (with stages and times), heart rate, respiratory rate, steps, active energy, workouts and mindful minutes.

Oura's own Readiness, Sleep and Activity scores stay in the Oura app. So do its HRV and temperature readings. Soma builds its own scores from the sleep and heart data Oura shares.

Good to know

  • Open the Oura app in the morning so the ring syncs and last night reaches Health.
  • Once linked, Oura takes your height, weight, age and sex from Health.
  • Wearing Oura and an Apple Watch to bed? Choose which counts for sleep: Doubled or mismatched readings.

Check it worked

Open the Health app, tap your picture, then Apps. Oura should be listed. Tap it to see what it may write. Then, in Soma, give it a minute and pull down on Today.
