Soma Axon, the pod
Why does Soma Axon have a recovery part at all?
Soma says it's there to help you feel good. The drawing labels light, warmth and cool air as the recovery part of every visit, and Soma is clear that this part isn't meant to treat anything. You can make any of it gentler. It follows the few minutes of reading, before you leave with one calm number. The pod is a wellness product, and work on the first prototype is still under way.
Does Soma Axon show my results right away?
Part of them. On your way out, the pod shows you one calm number. Everything else is in the Soma app, explained in plain words with the margin of error for each value. If you add the optional blood test, its results come from a partner lab a few days later. Soma is a general wellness product, and the app and pod aren't ready yet.
From FAQ.
Can I buy a Soma Axon for my home?
The site doesn't describe a home version. Soma plans pods in its own studio and in longevity clinics, gyms, workplaces and pharmacies, all on one account. Its blog calls Soma Axon a place you'll go to once a week. For businesses, Soma is choosing the first places to host a pod. It's for general wellness, and the first prototype is still being built.

What happens to my Soma Axon data if I stop using Soma?
You can stop at any time and for any reason, and you can close your account whenever you like. You can also ask Soma to delete your data at any time from the pod and the app. Soma says it's then gone from its systems within 30 days and from backups within 90. Soma Axon isn't collecting anything yet, and Soma keeps to general wellness.
From Terms of Use, FAQ, Home and Privacy Policy.
Who owns the data Soma Axon collects?
You do. Soma says members own what the pod reads, and its Terms say you own the data you put into Soma. Soma gets a limited license to use it to run and improve the service the way its Privacy Policy describes. Your data stays yours: Soma doesn't sell it or use it for ads, and a host venue never sees anyone's results. Soma isn't cleared or approved by the FDA.

Can an employer or insurer use my Soma Axon results?
Soma's Terms bar users from using Soma, or anything it computes, to make a decision about someone else's employment, insurance, credit or housing. At a workplace that hosts a pod, the employer pays for the benefit and never sees anyone's results. Soma also doesn't give health data to data brokers. Soma isn't cleared or approved by the FDA, and Soma Axon is still being built.

What has Soma Labs written about building Soma Axon?
Soma Labs uses its blog to write about building Soma Axon as it happens, including the research behind it and the calls it makes along the way. Early posts from September 23, 2026 include "Know thyself" and "The same instrument, every week", which explains why Axon reads you in one closed pod. The blog also says there's no pod yet and that the pictures of Axon are concept renders. It's designed for general wellness.

How does Soma's about page describe Soma Axon?
It describes the pod's cameras reading your pulse and breathing and photographing your skin while thermal, EEG, ECG, body composition and grip take the rest, all in a few minutes. The page adds that the light is the same at every visit, so when a number moves, it's because something changed in you. It also shows a concept render of the inside. Pods will stand in Soma's studio and in longevity clinics, gyms, workplaces and pharmacies. It's a general wellness product still being built.
What if my state doesn't allow the Soma Axon fingertip test?
Then you'd get a kit to use at home instead. At pods with an attendant, a few drops from your fingertip normally go to a partner lab, and the results reach the Soma app a few days later. The blood test is optional in either case, with its own price. Soma is a general wellness product, and the pod isn't open yet.
Can older adults use Soma Axon?
Yes, as long as they can stand still for a few minutes. Soma Axon is for adults 18 and over in the United States. The site gives no upper age, and Soma calls strength, balance and how you move the first things to change with age. Anyone unsure whether it suits them should ask their doctor before a first visit, and making the pod work for people who can't stand is on the roadmap. It sits in general wellness still being built.
Is Soma Axon only for athletes?
No. It's for adults 18 and over in the United States who can stand still for a few minutes, and pods are planned well beyond gyms: in Soma's own studio, longevity clinics, workplaces and pharmacies too. In gyms, members could see what their training changes week after week. It's all general wellness, and the first prototype is still in progress.

Does Soma Axon weigh me?
Weight isn't on the list of what Soma Axon reads. The floor plate reads body composition and balance, using a very small electrical current while you hold the grips. The full list covers skin photos, heart and breathing, ECG, EEG, thermal imaging, body composition, balance and grip strength. Soma Labs points out that most people know little about their body beyond their weight. It's a general wellness pod, and it's still being built.
Is Soma Axon worth it?
That's hard to judge before it exists: Soma Axon is still a prototype, and no price is published. What Soma says it's built for is the trend, the same readings taken the same way every week so you can see how your body changes between check-ups, since a single reading carries little on its own. It's a wellness product, and the waitlist will hear prices first.
Is Soma Axon more of a scan or a recovery session?
Both, in that order. The scan comes first: a few minutes standing still, hands on the grips and feet on the plate, while cameras, light and contact sensors read you. Then the recovery part follows, with warmth, cool air and mist, light, sound and a slow breath, which Soma says is for feeling good and isn't meant to treat anything. The whole pod is a wellness product, and the first one is still being built.
What's the full list of what Soma Axon reads?
Soma's comparison pages give it as skin photos, heart and breathing, ECG, EEG, thermal imaging, body composition, balance and grip strength, plus an optional finger-prick blood test handled by a partner lab. Cameras, a floor plate, a pair of grips and those sensors do the reading in a few minutes. Soma Axon isn't a medical device, and it's still being built.
How does Soma's full-body scans guide list Soma Axon?
As a weekly pod, still being built, that reads skin photos, heart and breathing, ECG, EEG, thermal imaging, body composition, balance and grip strength in a few minutes, once a week, with the price not announced and no radiation. The guide sets it beside whole-body MRI, DEXA, 3D body scanners, smart scales, skin checks and clinic health scans. It notes that among them, DEXA is the one that uses X-rays. Soma Axon is a general wellness product.
From Full-body scans compared and FAQ.
Is Soma choosing places to host Soma Axon?
Yes. Soma says it's choosing the first places to host Soma Axon, the closed pod people step into once a week, while the first prototype is built. Venues start by telling Soma about their place, including its location and how many people come through, and Soma reads every note and writes back by email. Pods are planned for longevity clinics, gyms, workplaces and pharmacies, as well as Soma's own studio. It's meant for general wellness.
From For organizations and FAQ.
Will Soma Axon have an API?
Soma is designing one. The API would let the apps people already use read their Soma results with their permission. It covers what the pod reads at each visit. It isn't open yet, and developers can join early access to help shape it. Members would choose what each app can read and could take that access back at any time. Soma's products are for general wellness.
From Developers and FAQ.
Does Soma Axon data go into research?
Only for members who opt in to a specific study. Soma says research teams work with members who opt in, inside a secure enclave, where data stays de-identified and the team's analysis runs next to it, so nothing leaves. Using the Soma app doesn't enroll you in a study on its own. Soma isn't medical care, and the pod isn't collecting anything yet.
From For organizations, Developers, Privacy Policy and FAQ.
What's the Today view in the Soma app?
It's the app's quick summary: three scores and one next move the second you open it, even in airplane mode. Today is read on your phone, so there's no network to wait on. It also runs without an account. Soma Axon adds a weekly whole-body read, which the app's Body section turns into a handful of facts. Soma isn't a medical device, and the app isn't ready for everyone yet.
