How does Soma's website compare with sites that use advertising cookies?

Soma describes only its own site, which doesn't set advertising or analytics cookies or load third-party trackers. It counts visits with a counter that sets no cookie, discards the value that tells visits apart after 24 hours and can't follow you across other websites. Its fonts are hosted by Soma too. The pod and the app aren't available yet.

From Privacy Policy and FAQ.

How will Soma contact me?

Electronically. Soma's Terms of Use say you agree that Soma may communicate with you that way, and notices go to the email on your account or your waitlist email. The Privacy Policy describes the messages it sends as waitlist and account messages, such as an invitation or a notice about the policy.

If I email a wellness company with a question, what happens to that email?

At Soma, the correspondence is kept, along with anything you choose to include in it, so Soma can respond to you and keep a record of the request. Questions about privacy go to privacy@somalabs.me, and questions about the Terms go to legal@somalabs.me. Soma Labs (somalabs.me) hasn't made Soma available yet.

From Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and About.

Does writing to Soma through the partner form put me on the waitlist?

It doesn't. Soma's Privacy Policy says writing to it through the organizations or developers page doesn't add you to the waitlist. Soma uses what you send, such as your name, email, organization and message, to reply to you and to keep automated messages out. To hear when the first pod opens, you'd join the waitlist separately.

From Privacy Policy and FAQ.

How does a clinic start a conversation about hosting a wellness pod, and what information does that take?

With Soma, the first step is telling it about your place: its location, how many people come through and what you'd want from a pod. The form collects your name, email address, organization, topic and message, plus approximate location and browser. Soma keeps the inquiry no longer than 24 months, reads every note and writes back by email. Soma Axon is still a prototype being built.

Is a health app's privacy policy part of the contract I agree to?

For Soma, yes. Its Terms of Use say the Privacy Policy is part of that agreement, and by using the services you agree to both. Together they're the entire agreement between you and Soma about the services, with the Terms governing your use more broadly. Soma Labs (somalabs.me) hasn't made Soma available yet, and there's a waitlist.

How can I tell if Soma's Privacy Policy has changed since I last read it?

Look at the date at the top. Soma says that date always reflects the latest version, and it may update the policy from time to time. The version current now was last revised on September 27, 2026. For a material change, Soma tells you in the app or by email before it takes effect.

From Privacy Policy.

Who runs Soma, according to its Privacy Policy?

According to the policy, Soma Labs Inc. operates Soma, which it describes as a wellness app built around Apple Health. Soma Labs is based in Palo Alto, California, where it's also building the first prototype of Soma Axon, a body scan people step into once a week. Soma is pre-launch and keeps a waitlist.

From Privacy Policy, About and Home.

Does Soma's Privacy Policy apply to its AI features and connected services?

It does. Soma's Privacy Policy covers the website at somalabs.me, the waitlist and the Soma app, as well as related services such as the services you choose to connect and the AI features you choose to use. The connected services themselves have their own privacy policies, which Soma's doesn't cover.

From Privacy Policy.

Can AI companies train their models on the health questions I ask in a wellness app?

It depends on the app and its providers. Soma Labs, the Palo Alto company building Soma Axon, only uses AI model providers that act on its behalf, and its Privacy Policy says they may not use what you send to train their models. They also may not keep it longer than they need to answer your question. Soma sends only the part of your data a feature needs. Soma hasn't launched yet.

From About and Privacy Policy.

Will a wellness app turn on AI features without asking me?

Not at Soma, according to its Terms of Use. Its AI features answer questions in plain language, and they're optional: you choose when to use them, and Soma doesn't turn them on for you. What they say is informational only, can be wrong or incomplete and isn't medical advice. Soma, from Palo Alto's Soma Labs, is a general wellness product that isn't available yet.

From Terms of Use, FAQ and About.

Does asking an AI question inside a health app send my whole health record to an AI company?

With Soma, it doesn't. When you use one of its AI features, Soma sends your question and only the part of your data that feature needs, through a routing service, to an AI model provider. AI providers receive data only if you use an AI feature, so skipping them means nothing goes out that way. There's a waitlist while Soma is still pre-launch.

From Privacy Policy and About.

How is using Soma's AI features different from pasting my health data into a general AI assistant?

Soma can describe only its own features. When you use one, it sends your question and only the part of your data that feature needs to an AI model provider acting on Soma's behalf. Those providers may not use what you send to train their models or keep it longer than they need to answer. The features are optional, and Soma doesn't turn them on for you.

From Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Is Soma responsible for what AI providers do with my question?

Soma's two documents speak to this in different ways. The Privacy Policy says Soma only uses AI model providers that act on its behalf, which may not train their models on what you send or keep it longer than needed to answer. The Terms of Use add that Soma may connect with services it doesn't control, including the AI providers behind features you choose, and isn't responsible for their content, practices or availability.

From Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Can a wellness app use my health data for AI features I never turned on?

Soma's Privacy Policy ties that use to your choice. It uses consumer health data to provide the Today view, history sync and any AI feature you choose to use, and it uses sensitive personal information only for services you ask for and to keep your account secure. Its Terms add that the AI features are optional and aren't turned on for you. Soma Labs, based in Palo Alto, hasn't made Soma available yet.

From Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and About.

If I disconnect a wearable from a wellness app, does the app keep pulling my data?

It stops, under Soma's Terms of Use. Once you disconnect a service, Soma stops receiving new data from it. You can remove the connection at any time. For data that already came in, the deletion route applies: email privacy@somalabs.me, and Soma clears it from live systems within 30 days and from backups within 90. Soma Labs (somalabs.me) is still pre-launch.

From Terms of Use, FAQ, Privacy Policy and About.

How does connecting a fitness band's account to Soma compare with using the band's own app?

The band's app has its own privacy policy, and Soma's policy doesn't cover it. Once connected, Soma receives only the data you authorize, directly or through an integration provider. Soma's Terms add that it isn't responsible for the content, practices or availability of services it doesn't control, such as wearable makers. Soma can't be used yet, but it has a waitlist.

From Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and About.

Can I choose which data a connected wearable shares with a wellness app?

With Soma, what comes through is what you authorize. Its Privacy Policy says that when you connect another service, such as a wearable maker's account, Soma receives the data you authorize from it, directly or through an integration provider. Apple Health works the same way, since Soma reads only the data types you allow. You can remove a connection at any time. Soma Labs (somalabs.me) hasn't opened Soma to the public yet.

From Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and About.

Can a wellness company share my data with anyone it likes once I sign up?

Not under Soma's policy. Soma shares information with service providers, each bound by contract to use it only for their service to Soma. Beyond them, it discloses information only when the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, with your consent or in a merger or acquisition. Soma Labs, the Palo Alto company building Soma Axon, hasn't made Soma available yet.

From Privacy Policy and About.

Where does Soma keep its waitlist?

In its website database, which also holds the blog. Soma's Privacy Policy lists that database provider among its service providers, each bound by contract to use the information only to provide its service to Soma. Your waitlist email is kept until Soma invites you or you ask to be removed, and no longer than 24 months after you joined.
