When, where and how much
Is the Soma app available?
Soma is in beta, a pre-release product, and access may be limited by waitlist, invitation or capacity. The app needs an iPhone, since it reads Apple Health. Soma is free during the beta. Joining the waitlist is how you'd hear when the app is ready for you and when the first Soma Axon pod opens.

Where can I get my body composition measured every week?
Options differ in how often they're meant to be used. A smart scale estimates body composition at home with a very small electrical current, and Soma's guide says DEXA providers suggest a scan every 3 to 6 months. Soma Axon, which Soma Labs is building for gyms, workplaces, pharmacies, longevity clinics and its own studio, is meant to read body composition at a weekly visit. It's a general wellness product that isn't open yet.

How much does it cost to track body composition regularly?
A DEXA scan cost about $40 to $185 when Soma's guide read its sources on September 26, 2026, with providers suggesting one every 3 to 6 months. A 3D body scan costs whatever each gym charges. Soma Axon, a weekly pod that reads body composition among other things, has no announced price. Soma says it'll be priced like a weekly habit. It's a general wellness product, still being built.

Where can I test my grip strength every week?
Grip isn't something the popular watches, bands and rings in Soma's comparisons list a way to test. Soma Axon is being built with a pair of grips that take readings at every weekly visit, alongside strength and balance, in a few minutes. Soma plans pods for gyms, workplaces, pharmacies, longevity clinics and its own studio, but none is open yet. It's a general wellness product, and there's a waitlist.

Is there somewhere I can check my balance once a week?
Soma is building a place for that. Soma Axon's floor plate reads balance and body composition, and the pod is designed for a weekly visit of a few minutes. Soma calls strength, balance and how you move the first things to change with age. The pods are planned for Soma's own studio, gyms, workplaces, pharmacies and longevity clinics. None is open yet, and it's a general wellness product.

Where can I find a recovery session with warmth and cool air?
Every Soma Axon visit is designed to end with one: warmth, cool air and mist, light, sound and a slow breath. Soma says it's there to help you feel good. It doesn't treat anything, and you can make any part of it gentler. The pod isn't open anywhere yet. Once it opens, you'd find it in places like Soma's own studio, gyms and workplaces. Soma is a general wellness product.
Is there a weekly check on stress and recovery I can do in person?
Soma is building one. Soma says it reads stress and recovery from your nervous system and sets them next to how you say you feel, and the Soma app's Mind section gives one score for your nervous system with what moved it. Soma Axon, the pod for the weekly visit, isn't available yet. Soma is a general wellness product and isn't medical care, and there's a waitlist.
How can I start a weekly habit of checking in on my body?
Soma is building for that habit: a weekly visit to Soma Axon, a pod you'd step into for a few minutes, in the same cabin and under the same light each time. Between visits, the Soma app keeps reading from your phone and watch. Soma says it'll price the service like a weekly habit, though no price is out yet. The pod isn't open, and there's a waitlist. It's a general wellness product.

How can I keep a record of how my body changes over a year?
A yearly check-up reads you once a year, and a smart scale can give a number every morning at home. Soma Axon is built for the trend: the same readings, taken the same way every week, so you can see how your body changes between check-ups, which adds up to 52 reads a year. It's a general wellness product and doesn't replace your check-ups. The pod isn't available yet.
Which body scans take only a few minutes?
Soma's guide lists a DEXA scan at about 7 to 11 minutes, a 3D body scan at under a minute and a smart scale at 30 seconds, while a whole-body MRI takes 22 to 60 minutes. Soma Axon is being built to read the whole body in a few minutes once a week. It isn't available yet, and Soma is a general wellness product.

Is there a body scan without a cuff, wires or needles?
Soma Axon is designed that way: cameras read heart and breathing with no cuff and no wires, and nothing is strapped to you. There's no needle unless you add the optional blood test. Soma plans pods for its own studio and for gyms, workplaces, pharmacies and longevity clinics. None is open yet. Soma is a general wellness product.
Which body scan services let me delete my data?
Soma says you can ask it to delete your data at any time from the pod and the app. Emailing privacy@somalabs.me removes everything from its live systems within 30 days and from backups within 90. Soma also says your data stays yours and isn't sold or used for ads. Soma Axon, the pod, isn't available yet, though there's a waitlist.
Are there full-body scans that don't use radiation?
Several. Soma's guide says a whole-body MRI uses a magnetic field and radio waves, and 3D body scanners use no radiation. Of the scans it compares, only DEXA uses X-rays, at a very low dose. Soma Axon uses no X-rays, no CT and nothing else ionizing. It's a general wellness product that isn't available yet, and there's a waitlist.

What could a gym add so members see how their training changes their body?
Soma's idea is to put Soma Axon in gyms and studios, where members would see what their training changes in their body, week after week, in a few minutes before or after a session. Gyms can already offer 3D body scanners, which Soma's guide says read shape, posture and estimated fat and lean mass. Soma is choosing the first host sites now, and the pod is a general wellness product.

What's a wellness benefit where the employer never sees anyone's results?
That's how Soma describes Soma Axon for workplaces: a benefit people use every week, paid for by the employer, who never sees anyone's results. Members own what the pod reads, keep their own account at every pod and can have their data deleted when they ask. Soma is choosing its first host sites while the first prototype is built. It's a general wellness product.

How can a pharmacy offer a quick wellness check customers use every week?
Soma describes one route: host Soma Axon, which would take a customer a few minutes in the pod on the way to the counter. With an attendant on site, the pod can also offer the optional finger-prick blood test. Soma installs the pod and trains the staff to run it. It's choosing the first places to host one now. Soma is a general wellness product.

How could a longevity clinic see how often clients use a weekly service without seeing their results?
With Soma Axon, a host venue sees how often the pod gets used and never anyone's results. Soma illustrates that view as visits through the week shown as bars, next to a locked results area. For longevity clinics, it describes the pod as a weekly read between deeper workups. Members own what the pod reads. Soma is a general wellness product, still choosing its first hosts.

Is there a body scan API developers can build on?
Soma is designing one so the apps people already use can read their Soma results with their permission. It isn't open yet, and developers can join early access and help shape it. Each reading will come with how sure Soma is of it, and anything not measured will come back as not measured, never a zero or a guess. Soma Axon itself is still being built, and Soma is a general wellness product.

How can researchers work with wellness data from people who opt in?
Soma's model is a secure enclave. Studies run only with members who opt in to that specific study, and a research team sends its analysis into the enclave, where it runs next to de-identified data that never leaves. Research teams and developers can tell Soma what they'd like to study through its developers page. Soma Axon, the source of that data, isn't available yet.

Is there a weekly body scan that works with Apple Health?
Soma is building one around it. The Soma app runs on iPhone and reads Apple Health between visits to Soma Axon, with your permission and read-only, so it never writes anything back. A watch is optional and adds detail about the days in between. The pod isn't available yet, and the waitlist hears when the app is ready. Soma is a general wellness product.
