How can our members see how their body changes over a year?
By measuring the same way every week, the idea Soma Axon is built on. Weekly visits add up to 52 reads a year, and after a handful of visits, Soma has a baseline built from the member's own readings. The Soma app's Body view reads the trend across all of them and says how much data each answer rests on. It's built for general wellness and is still in development.

What could we offer members that ends with one simple number?
Soma Axon ends each visit that way. The pod shows one calm number on the way out, and everything else waits in the Soma app, explained in plain words with the margin of error for each value. Members change in a private room and spend a few minutes in the pod first. It's a general wellness product, and the pod is still being built.

How can a venue give members readings they can trust week to week?
Keep the instrument and the setting the same, which is Soma's approach with Soma Axon. It's the same instrument every week, with the same light and camera angles, so when a number moves, Soma says the member can trust it. Every value comes with its margin of error. The pod is a general wellness product that's still being built.
Is a body scan pod fully enclosed?
Soma Axon is. Soma Labs, based in Palo Alto, describes it as one closed pod with cameras, thermal, EEG, ECG, body composition and grip inside, a closed cabin with the same light and camera angles every week. Members change in a private room first. It's a general wellness product, and the first prototype is being built.

Why would a venue offer a weekly scan rather than a monthly one?
Soma's reason for weekly is that one reading on its own doesn't tell much, while readings taken the same way every week show what's changing and how fast. A member who comes every week makes 52 visits a year. Soma Axon is built around that schedule, and it's a general wellness product still in development.

How do members start using a hosted body scan pod for the first time?
With Soma Axon, a first visit looks like any other: change in a private room, a few minutes in the pod, one calm number on the way out. Before that first visit, Soma asks anyone unsure whether the pod suits them to check with their doctor. The first version is for adults 18 and over in the United States, and the pod isn't available yet.

Is Soma Axon coming to my gym?
Soma hasn't named any venues yet. It's choosing the first places to host Soma Axon, and gyms and studios are on its list. The waitlist will be the first to hear where the first pod opens, and a gym that wants a pod can tell Soma about its place through the organizations page.

Can my employer offer Soma Axon?
Workplaces are one of the places Soma Labs (somalabs.me) plans to put its pods. Soma describes a workplace pod as a benefit people use every week, paid for by the employer, who never sees anyone's results. An employer interested in hosting starts by telling Soma about the place. Soma is still building the first one.
From FAQ, For organizations and About.
Would I pay anything to use a Soma pod at work?
At workplaces, Soma says the employer pays for the pod as a benefit. Soma hasn't published prices for Soma Axon in general yet, and the optional blood test will be an add-on with its own price. The pod isn't available yet, and the waitlist hears first about prices and openings.
From For organizations, Compare and FAQ.
Will my gym see my Soma results?
No. Members own what Soma Axon reads, and a venue that hosts the pod sees how often it gets used, never anyone's results. The gym's view is visits through the week, next to a locked area that reads "Results stay with members." Your results live in the Soma app, and Soma isn't medical care.

How does Soma Axon fit into a gym's day?
Soma talks that through with each venue. The second step of hosting is a visit, where Soma sees the space and discusses how a pod would fit the gym's day. For members, a visit takes a few minutes before or after a session. Soma Labs, based in Palo Alto, is still choosing its first host venues.

What does the inside of Soma Axon look like?
Soma's about page shows a concept render of the inside, since the first prototype is still being built. The pod is a closed cabin with the same light and camera angles every week, a floor plate for body composition and balance, and grips for the hands. Soma's drawing also labels light, warmth and cool air as the recovery part of every visit. Soma Axon isn't medical care.
Can members get Soma's blood test at a gym pod?
Soma ties the optional blood test to pods with an attendant, where the attendant takes a few drops from a fingertip and sends them to a partner lab. It names pharmacies with an attendant on site as one place that can offer it. Where a state doesn't allow the draw, there's a home kit instead. All of Soma is general wellness.

What happens to my data if I stop going to a hosted Soma pod?
It stays yours, and you can ask Soma to delete it at any time, from the pod and the app. Soma says a deletion request removes your data from its live systems within 30 days and from its backups within 90. The venue that hosted the pod never saw your results in the first place.

Can Soma Axon be placed near a pharmacy counter?
Soma describes the pharmacy visit as a few minutes in the pod on the way to the counter, so that's the picture it has in mind. Where exactly a pod goes is part of the second hosting step, when Soma visits the space and talks through how a pod would fit the pharmacy's day. The pod isn't available yet.

What does Soma mean by putting a body scan where people already are?
It's Soma's pitch to organizations: bring Soma Axon to the places people already go. Soma lists longevity clinics, gyms, workplaces and pharmacies alongside its own studio, and it's choosing the first places to host a pod. At each one, a visit is meant to take a few minutes, once a week.

What's the one-account point on Soma's organizations page?
It's Soma's point that one account works at every Soma Axon pod, so a member's record follows them to your venue from another pod, and from yours to the next. Pods are planned for Soma's own studio and for longevity clinics, gyms, workplaces and pharmacies. The first one is still being built.

How does a weekly pod compare with offering DEXA scans at a gym?
According to Soma's guide, a DEXA scan reads body fat, visceral fat, lean mass and bone density and uses a very low dose of X-rays. The guide puts it at about 7 to 11 minutes and $40 to $185 as of September 26, 2026, with providers suggesting every 3 to 6 months. Soma Axon uses nothing ionizing and fits a few minutes before or after a session each week. Soma labels it general wellness, and the first one is still being built.

How does hosting a weekly pod compare with a smart scale program for employees?
A smart scale lives at home, where Soma says its strength is a 30-second step every morning, and it estimates body composition with a very small electrical current. Soma Axon reads body composition the same basic way but in a closed pod people visit once a week, paid for by the employer at workplaces. The employer never sees anyone's results. It isn't medical care, and the first prototype is still in the works.

Should a longevity clinic offer a 3D body scanner or a weekly pod?
They measure different things, so it depends on what the clinic wants. Soma's guide says a 3D scanner reads body shape and measurements, estimated fat and lean mass and posture in under a minute. Soma Axon is built for a weekly read between the deeper workups a clinic already runs, covering skin photos, heart and breathing, body composition, balance and grip strength among others. It isn't medical care, and it isn't available yet.
