When, where and how much
What happens if Soma ends the beta?
Soma's Terms say it can suspend or end access if it ends the beta or discontinues the services, and that it'll give notice first where it reasonably can. The beta is pre-release, so features can change, break or disappear without notice. You can also stop using Soma at any time, including by deleting the app.
From Terms of Use.
Is the Soma app on the App Store?
Soma's Terms cover getting Soma through the Apple App Store and using a beta build through TestFlight, where Apple's TestFlight terms apply too. Its FAQ still sends people to the waitlist to hear when the app is ready for them. Soma is in beta, and access may be limited by waitlist, invitation or capacity.
From Terms of Use and FAQ.
Is camera-based pulse measurement in the Soma app available yet?
Not yet. Camera-based pulse measurement inside the Soma app isn't available and collects nothing today, according to Soma's Privacy Policy. The same goes for the Soma Axon device. Before either starts collecting anything, Soma will give a separate notice and ask for your explicit consent. Soma is a general wellness product.
From Privacy Policy and FAQ.
Does Soma Axon collect any data today?
Nothing yet. The Soma Axon device isn't available and collects nothing today, according to Soma's Privacy Policy. Before it starts, you'd get a separate notice asking for your explicit consent, and that notice will explain how long Soma keeps face video and data derived from it. The first prototype is still being built.

Will I get anything the same day as my Soma visit?
Yes, one calm number on your way out of Soma Axon. Everything else goes into the Soma app, explained in plain words with the margin of error for each value. If you add the optional blood test, its results reach the app a few days later. Soma is a general wellness product, and the pod isn't available yet.
Does the Soma app need an account during the beta?
Not for the basics. The app has no account as of Soma's Privacy Policy of September 27, 2026, and nothing you read in it leaves your phone. The Today view runs on your phone without one, while history sync, an optional feature, needs an account. Soma is in beta, so features can change.
From Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Can I join a Soma research study now?
Soma Labs runs research studies separate from the app, for example measuring pulse from a camera next to a reference chest strap. They're for adults only, and each has its own written consent form. Using the Soma app doesn't enroll you in one. Soma Axon, the pod, isn't available yet. Soma is a general wellness product.

Could Soma Axon's design still change before launch?
Soma says its comparison pages describe the pod as it's being designed, because it isn't available yet. Its blog likewise describes Axon as Soma is designing it today. The Terms also call Soma a pre-release product in beta, where features can change, break or disappear without notice. The first prototype is still being built.

Is anything about Soma paid right now?
No. Soma's Terms of Use say Soma is free during the beta, and no price has been announced for Soma Axon. If Soma adds a paid feature later, it'll show you the price and ask for your agreement before charging you. Pod prices will reach the waitlist first, before the first pod opens.

Does signing up early for the Soma waitlist give me priority?
Soma describes the waitlist as the way to be among the first to hear when the pod opens and the app is ready, and the first to hear prices and where the first pod opens. Its Terms add that access to the beta may be limited by waitlist, invitation or capacity. It doesn't describe any order within the waitlist.
From FAQ and Terms of Use.
Can I reserve a spot at the first Soma pod?
Not yet. There's no pod to book, since Soma Labs is still building the first prototype of Soma Axon. What you can do is leave your email on the waitlist, which will be the first to hear where the first pod opens. Soma is still choosing its first host sites.
From FAQ, Waitlist and For organizations.
Is there a free trial of Soma?
Soma hasn't described a trial. Its Terms of Use say Soma is free during the beta, and that any paid feature added later will come with its price shown and your agreement asked for before a charge. Soma Axon itself has no announced price, and prices come out before the first pod opens.

Should I talk to my doctor before using Soma Axon?
If you're unsure whether the pod suits you, yes: Soma tells people to ask their doctor before a first visit. The first version isn't for anyone who's pregnant or under 18, or who has a pacemaker, an implanted defibrillator or another implanted electronic device. Soma is a general wellness product, and the pod isn't available yet.
Does Soma share my waitlist email with anyone?
Only with service providers that are bound by contract to use it just to provide their service to Soma, such as email delivery for waitlist messages. Soma says it doesn't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can unsubscribe from waitlist emails at any time.
From Privacy Policy.
Where does Soma store my waitlist sign-up?
In the United States. Soma's Privacy Policy says it stores and processes data in the US, including on cloud infrastructure it rents. It keeps a waitlist email until it invites you or you ask to be removed, and never longer than 24 months after you joined.
From Privacy Policy.
Can I ask Soma what it holds about me from the waitlist?
Access, a copy, a correction or deletion: you can ask Soma for any of them by emailing privacy@somalabs.me. Soma responds within 45 days, and if it needs more time, it'll say so and may take one further 45-day extension. It may verify the request, for example by confirming your email address.
From Privacy Policy.
What can I do with Soma before the first pod opens?
Join the waitlist to hear first when Soma Axon opens and the app is ready, and read Soma's blog, where the team writes about the build as it happens. Developers can join early access to help shape the API, and venues can tell Soma about their place through the organizations page. The app itself is in beta, with limited access.
From FAQ, Know thyself, Developers, For organizations and Terms of Use.
Is Soma available in California?
Soma is offered only in the United States, and Soma Labs Inc. is based in Palo Alto, California. That said, no Soma Axon pod has opened anywhere yet, since the first prototype is still being built. People on the waitlist will be the first to hear where the first pod opens.
